Thank God I have renter's insurance, because Reeler HQ is flooded with tears of joy at the news of Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman's forthcoming nuptials. Page Six had the story Sunday morning:
The Weinstein Company co-founder will swap vows with his bride Dec. 15 in Westport, Conn. Sources credit Chapman with the emergence of a kinder, gentler Weinstein, and for his growing interest in fashion, which resulted in his acquisition of the Halston fashion line last year.
Sources tell The Reeler that this will be the first privately financed Weinstein project released direct-to-video; as per usual, best man Bob Weinstein will reportedly determine the genre and budget for catering. The pair's awards campaign strategy has yet to be announced, but once we figure it out, we'll pass the hat for a gift. In any case, congratulations to the happy couple, and here's hoping a little Weinstein spin-off doesn't have to wait on the shelf with Wong Kar-wai until a date to be determined in 2008/09.
