Just one last reminder for you to visit the Pioneer Theater tonight for a preview screening of Air Guitar Nation -- a fun, fabulously shameless documentary that needs little introduction either on this blog or in person, but which I will attempt to MC anyhow as a part of the Reeler Screening Series. The film's whiff-riff superstar Dan Crane (a k a Bjorn Turoque) will join filmmaker Alexandra Lipsitz and USA Air Guitar founders Kriston Rucker and Cedric Devitt for a post-screening discussion; Turoque will be packing his instrument, as will pretty much anyone else who walks through the door, so go where the music takes you (and invite all of your friends to do the same).
The show starts at 6:30; drinks are likely to follow somewhere, it's anyone's guess. Check out the jump for all of the program details -- I hope to see you there!

-- Airness is defined as the extent to which the air guitar performance exceeds the imitation of playing guitar and becomes an art form in and of itself. --
A battle of naked ambition played out on the national and, ultimately, world stage, the documentary AIR GUITAR NATION chronicles the birth of the US Air Guitar Championships -- where legions of aspiring rock stars live out their dreams on a quest to conquer a parallel universe where musical ability plays second fiddle to virtual virtuosity. As the story unfolds, two aspiring rock legends strum and strut their way towards glory and the coveted national title; C. Diddy (David Jung), a samurai warrior clad in a "Hello Kitty" breastplate and red kimono, emerges as an early favorite, but his arch nemesis from the Lower East Side, Bjorn Turoque (Dan Crane), is not far behind. While C. Diddy threatens to unleash his self-professed "Asian Fury" on his competitors, Bjorn vows to take Diddy down. As the film reaches its climax, the future of Air hangs in the balance; will Bjorn's technical prowess, stage presence and airness be enough to take him to the top, or will C. Diddy conquer all to become America's first supreme being of Air Guitar?
