Starting tomorrow, teachers from kindergarten to grade 12 will be able to see Freedom Writers, Hilary Swank's inspirational inspiration-fest, inspired by the story of an actual teacher, for free until February 1. If spotty reviews are to be trusted, that seems like something of a mixed blessing, but from what I hear, America's teachers are not really in a position to turn down a free movie, or a free sandwich, for that matter. It is an interesting marketing strategy, for a film that opened well but has flagged substantially in its third week.
