The Reeler is all about customs, and for sheer sluggishness, Monday morning is a custom that's often hard to abide. Hence "Monday News Haikus," a new spin-off that I hope assuages some of that bleary-eyed anguish the way "All-Positive Friday" reminds us of the blogosphere's underplayed potential for spirit, optimism and triumph. Or, more likely, it'll totally suck, in which case your Monday mornings just got worse. Sorry.
Anyway, in haiku form, some of today's movie news of note from around New York:
--David Carr is good,
but I don't get his ending.
What about indies?
--More from the strike front:
Harvey wants a waiver. Ha!
He is no Tom Cruise.
--Poor Daniel Plainview.
A father without a son.
Or does he have two?
--Asia's where it's at,
but Europe's not over yet.
So sayeth Dave Kehr.
--Marty. PTA.
Golden opportunity.
Why not take good notes?
--Poor, poor Uwe Boll.
He really just wants respect.
This Post headline helps.
--Lots of New Yorkers
among last-year's must read news.
Just one word: Dionne.
