Remember how geeked I was that Martin Scorsese was booked for Nov. 27 at the Walter Reade Theater -- where, for a mere $10, viewers could hear the director, historian and film-preservation godhead riff on filmmakers George Seaton and William Perlberg? Hot, right? Yes, well, hang on to your tickets: The Next Generation of Film series event has been postponed due to what Lincoln Center officials tell me is Scorsese's packed travel schedule; word is that the event is likely to be rescheduled for January, by which time his Rolling Stones doc should be in the can and he can get back to sweating out awards season. Which will make for a better Q&A anyway. Maybe.
In Scorsese's place, the Walter Reade will be showing A Prairie Home Companion at 8:30 p.m. in tribute to the late Robert Altman. And all signs indicate Ben Affleck is still on for the Hollywoodland screening and discussion that closes out the Next Generation series Dec. 6. Both are $10.
