It's a long story, but I just got off the phone with filmmaker Doug Pray, whose latest documentary, Infamy, is a nifty, surging slice of life from the trenches of graffiti culture. (I wrote it up last year and will be writing it up in brief again soon--stay tuned.) He tells me that Scion is hosting a free screening of the film tonight over at Anthology Film Archives, where he'll be on hand for Q&A in advance of its Oct. 17 release on DVD.
As far as I know, Infamy hasn't been seen theatrically in New York since last year's tumultuous RESfest screening, and it won't likely be seen out again for, well, like, ever. And definitely not gratis. For what it's worth.
Anyway, I'll have more about Pray's newest project later this week. Brief hint: It involves truck drivers. I know, I know -- what a tease.
